Sony 24-70mm f/2.8 G-Master Review

Part of what we blog about here and what’s been very interesting in the mirrorless camera market, is how filmmakers and photographers have embraced the Sony Alpha bodies. They’ve done so with various adapters for their good glass. Now with the G Masters, Sony is offering them comparable and arguably better 24-70/70-200 lenses. In this video, Tony Northrup reviews the 24-70mm f/2.8 and Chelsea mentions the Eye-AF and how it nailed the shot. Other conclusions? Lack of good (really good) glass in the Sony lineup was the weakness and now its a few shortcomings their bodies. Like no dual card slot (for backups) and for us it’s weather sealing. The video continues with comparisons of the Sony glass to Canon and previous Sony versions. The conclusions? Sony glass is equal to or better than any pro offering from their competitors.

My daily shooter is Sony A1 with a vertical grip and various Sony lenses attached like the FE 20mm F1.8. Find more gear recommendations in our shop. As an Amazon Associate I earn from qualifying purchases.
