Sony A7SII Gets an Excellent Rating

Videos isn’t really our thing, so the A7S II and it’s 4K full-frame 4K video recording and incredible high ISO image quality, isn’t a focus of ours, and we haven’t tested it’s awesomeness. Plenty of other outlets have, including the BBC and PCMag who give the A7S II an excellent rating. For the Pros

Full-frame 4K video recording. Incredible high ISO image quality. 5fps burst shooting. In-body image stabilization. Hinged rear display. Sharp EVF. Dust- and moisture-resistant design.

The Cons

Expensive. 12-megapixel resolution can be limiting. Omits PC sync socket. Overly sensitive eye sensor. No built-in flash.

and the Bottom Line

The Sony Alpha 7S II full-frame mirrorless camera excels at 4K video and high ISO imaging, but it’s priced at a premium.

It sure is priced at a premium and Sony’s profits indicate as much. PCmag didn’t mention the heat issues, but the BBC has. As I said, we don’t test video in extreme situations, so it hasn’t affected us, but read up on that if you’re considering a purchase.
