Must Have Flash Tool – Rogue FlashBender 2

If you look inside my camera bag, you’ll find a number of tools, but the one that has been there the longest is the Rouge FlashBender. This versatile light modifier has long been my go-to choice for modifying light coming off of a strobe because of it’s ability to bend and flex into nearly any shape, thanks to a series of internal rods that can be twisted and bent into place.

Now Rogue have introduced the FlashBender 2 and it has replaced the FlashBender in my camera bag, and has earned a “must have” rating from SonyMirrorlessPro.com.

The FlashBender reflector can be used either on-camera or off-camera, and you simply bend or twist the panel into shape. Too much light on your subject, twist the edge of the FlashBender to modify the fall of the light. You can use the FlashBender as a reflector, gobo, snoot, accent light, softbox or more.

The FlashBender 2 is 20%-30% lighter (depending on the size) using custom fabrics that also increase flexibility and create softer reflections. The FlashBender 2 also has a better belt-and-buckle attachment for better connection to flash systems. The built-in connector adjusts to fit to all common accessory flashes including Canon, Konica, Metz, Minolta, Nikon, Nissin, Olympus, Panasonic, Pentax, Phottix, Quantum, Sigma, Sony, Vivitar, and Yongnuo.
