If you’ve been following the a6300 and G Master lens launch, perhaps you’re wondering by now just how fast the unrivaled AF speed is, and what those 425 high-density focal points can do. Yesterday, on Medium I wrote about taking photos in the blink of an eye, and how Sony is releasing Alpha Series cameras with Kondo
During his opening remarks in New York, the president of Sony USA told us the intent of the Alpha Series cameras was Kondo and loosely translated from Japanese that means, “being in the moment, present with expressive technology.” In other words, if you compose the shot, the camera will take care of the rest. As a blogger who got into journalism, and now with a foot in the photography world shooting with pro cameras, I’m deleting fewer images off SD cards. Unless it’s out of focus, over/under exposed, or poorly composed, it’s really hard to take a bad shot with a pro camera.
Immediately after the launch, Sony uploaded the edits that wowed the press like the one shared here. We won’t have a demo unit to review for a while, but the video demonstrates how Sony’s latest tech keeps photographers in the moment, so they can get the shot with more and faster focus points, facial recognition, and eye tracking.
Amazon lists the a6300 as unavailable, but B&H has it on their site for $998.00 with an expected availability date of February 10th. The Alpha a6300 Mirrorless Digital Camera with 16-50mm Lens is available on the same date from B&H for $1148.00.
