At the 2017 CP+ Camera + Photo Imaging Show in Tokyo this week, Sigma announced the addition of four new lenses to its Global Vision lens line: the 14mm F1.8 DG HSM Art, 135mm F1.8 DG HSM Art, 24-70mm F2.8 DG HSM OS Art and 100-400mm F5-6.3 DG HSM OS Contemporary.
Outstanding optical performance and quality construction are two of the hallmarks of the Global Vision line. And, connectivity to Sony cameras with their excellent MC-11 means Sony shooters now have more lenses to choose from.
The 14mm F1.8 DG HSM Art will be the world’s first F1.8 wide-angle prime, with three lens elements made with FLD glass and four SLD (Special Low Dispersion) glass elements to reduce chromatic aberration. Its ultra-wide angle of view will make it a great choice for architecture, astrophotography, documentary and landscapes.
The 135mm F1.8 DG HSM Art is a versatile mid-range telephoto prime for full-frame cameras. Its large diameter and 1.8 aperture will allow the lens to capture beautiful bokeh for weddings or studio portraiture, while fast autofocus makes the 135mm a good choice for concert photography and other live events.
Sigma has “revamped” the 24-70mm F2.8 DG HSM OS Art, with an all-new Optical Stabilizer and newly designed Hyper Sonic Motor. The standard-zoom lens is designed to perform in a variety of photographic applications, with three SLD (Special Low Dispersion) glass elements and four aspherical elements to reduce chromatic aberration.
The 100-400mm F5-6.3 DG HSM OS Contemporary telephoto zoom is lightweight and compact, with a dust- and splash-proof design. The lens features Sigma’s macro function (1:3.8 ratio) for shooting close-ups and distance shots, with push-pull zooming.
The new lenses are compatible with Sigma, Canon and Nikon mounts and work with Sigma’s MC-11 Sony E-mount converter. Availability and pricing are to be announced and we’ll have them in to demo as soon as possible.
