Jonathan Nolan, the creator of HBO’s Westworld, removed the coatings on the lenses for an organic, dreamy look and shot on film.
We wanted the western town to feel classy and elegant.
The director and cinematographer continue to explain in the interview with Indiewire how they got the look with, “Sharp contrasts between light and dark and warmth and coldness.”
The only technical tip the article shares is the production used ARRICAM Lite package and picked a set of Arri Zeiss master prime lenses.
