As long as you don’t crash your drone into anything, a person, or a BIKE RACE, we’re cool with the tech. And, especially now that DJI has made it more accessible and affordable in their new Spark model.
The Spark weighs 300 grams and retails for $499.00 with instant on, gestures, and a QuickShot mode that sends the drone on a programmed path. If those modes get old, there’s also a Sport Mode that can reach 31 MPH, and the gimbal is in the first-person view, so the camera moves with you, like on a photo walk.
The Spark is no slouch on specs either with 1/2.3” CMOS sensor that captures 12-megapixel photos and shoots stabilized HD 1080p videos. Spark’s 2-axis mechanical gimbal and UltraSmooth technology dramatically reduces shake and rolling shutter effect to capture cinematic shots effortlessly.
To get your drone back safely, the Spark’s FlightAutonomy system consists of the main camera, a downward-facing vision system, a forward-facing 3D Sensing System, dual-band GPS and GLONASS, a high-precision inertial measurement unit, and 24 powerful computing cores. The Spark will hover accurately with vision system assistance at up to 98 feet and sense obstacles from up to 16 ft away.
The flight time is about 16 minutes and it’ll transmit 720p real-time video from up to 1.2 miles.
If you want to put your point of view in the air, it’s never been easier.g
The Spark is available for preorder now from for 499.00.
