During CES, Phase One announced their new medium format camera with a Sony sensor and yesterday uploaded a stunning video from Tim Kemple who also attached the XF 100MP to a drone. The Phase one uses a Sony sensor to produce stunning imagery and video. Note: that’s a $50K camera flying around canyons and skyscrapers. What got my attention, 30 seconds in, is that metallic shutter sound, reminiscent of the A7R Mark I loud scheelunk, when taking a photo. While the XF 100MP isn’t specifically relevant to mirrorless camera shooters, it does indicate Sony’s technical prowess in sensor technology, as we shared last month when discussing the future of their cameras and technology.
…My daily shooter is Sony A1 with a vertical grip and various Sony lenses attached like the FE 20mm F1.8. Find more gear recommendations in our shop. As an Amazon Associate I earn from qualifying purchases.
