Jason Lanier took two Sony A7Rii’s down to Hollywood Boulevard for a shoot with a model showing off the lenses at apertures f/8, f/2, f/1.8, and the G Master at f/1.7 and f/1.4. He compares the lenses and shows you side by side examples and even goes into Pixel Peeping mode where you get to see how these lenses perform on prints that would be enormous if you were to pixel peep that much.
And what does he find? What we’d expect after shooting with the G Masters ourselves in NYC….the Sony glass has much better bokeh.
…My daily shooter is Sony A1 with a vertical grip and various Sony lenses attached like the FE 20mm F1.8. Find more gear recommendations in our shop. As an Amazon Associate I earn from qualifying purchases.
