Faster than a speeding bullet. More powerful than a locomotive. Able to beat Canon and Nikon in a single bound?
Our content partner, Digital Photo Pro just published their full review of the Sony a9 and did so with stunning photos from an airshow.
Written by David Schloss, the article echoes much of what the media first learned shooting with the a9 in New York when it launched.
The Sony a9 is a groundbreaking camera, as it’s the first full-frame mirrorless to surpass the performance (at least in terms of frame rate and AF speed) of the top-end DSLRs. With a top frame rate of 20 fps and nearly 700 focus points, the Sony a9 is a dream camera for sports shooters and a tremendous performer for just about any other market as well.
And, one that’s gonna get the shot. As I observed, it’s the mirrorless event horizon, and despite the naysayers has changed the game for good. The take away from David’s article is the underlying benefits of a mirrorless system provides functionality that simply can’t be met by a mirrored camera. It surpasses benchmarks of performance set by Canon and Nikon
The take away from David’s article is the underlying benefits of a mirrorless system provides functionality that simply can’t be met by a mirrored camera. It surpasses benchmarks of performance set by Canon and Nikon; even if that’s not enough to convince a shooter to switch systems, it’s worth paying attention to what Sony is doing.
