Photographing F1 with a Vintage Camera

I know the news about a Lollipop Magazine photographer shooting Formula One with an ancient camera is dated now, but we were at PressCamp and it’s still a great story.

I shot an F1 race a few years ago, and was in the scrum. Not with a 100-yr old camera, an A7R II actually, but it was a very memorable experience.

I’m not trying to document the race, but F1 itself, so I’m more interested in the people, the cars, the tools, trucks and atmosphere.

My daily shooter is Sony a9 II with a vertical grip and various Sony lenses attached like the FE 20mm F1.8. Find more gear recommendations in our shop. As an Amazon Associate I earn from qualifying purchases.
