Sony’s First Fisheye Zoom Lens Arrives: The SEL814G
Sony has added a new kind of creative tool to the Alpha system: the SEL814G, its first fisheye zoom G Lens for full‑frame E‑mount. It’s a compact 8–14mm f/3.5 zoom that moves from full circular fisheye at 8mm to diagonal fisheye at 14mm, giving photographers and filmmakers a full range of extreme perspectives in one lightweight package.
The release describes it simply: “The 8 mm to 14 mm zoom range covers circular fisheye at 8 mm through diagonal fisheye at 14 mm, with a constant aperture of f/3.5.”

At 314 grams, the SEL814G is built for mobility—handheld, gimbal, rig, or even dual‑camera spatial setups. Sony notes that pairing two SEL814Gs with the VENICE Extension System Mini places the optical axes roughly 64mm apart, close to human interpupillary distance, enabling VR and spatial content capture with natural depth.
