Vitec Photographic And Sony Announce Collaboration In The Imaging Market

We are proud to announce the agreement with Sony.

Said Marco Pezzana, CEO Vitec Group Photographic Division and added

This collaboration sees our brands Manfrotto and Gitzo, leaders in the market of photo and video accessories, working side by side with the prestigious Sony brand, globally renowned for product excellence and superior technology, with the primary intent of collaborating to the development of even more innovative products for professional content creators, thus further increasing customer satisfaction and future business growth.

You probably noticed our recent posts about Manfrotto and Gitzo and it looks like even more products are coming targeting Sony pros. The collaboration will begin with a brand new line of products developed for Sony’s Alpha cameras, that will be launched in 2018.

We expect a special version of the Manfrotto Befree  to be unveiled at PhotoPlus in New York on October 26th. Then the full range will include new Manfrotto and Gitzo tripods, plates, photo and video heads.

Most interesting is a customized version of Digital Director which does not support Alpha cameras now.

Digital Director is an iPad app that controls your camera and up to 13 lights. The system includes hardware and an app, and it’s run by connecting the Digital Director to the camera via USB and costs $499.

My daily shooter is Sony A1 with a vertical grip and various Sony lenses attached like the FE 20mm F1.8. Find more gear recommendations in our shop. As an Amazon Associate I earn from qualifying purchases.
