The Sony E PZ 16-50mm launched this morning. Designed for APS-C mirrorless camera sensors, the black f/3.5-5.6 OSS II lens from Sony provides a versatile full-frame equivalent zoom range of 24-75mm in a compact form. Its variable aperture of f/3.5 to 5.6 minimizes size and weight while catering to most photography needs.
The lens features quick autofocusing and enhanced Optical SteadyShot image stabilization to reduce handheld camera shake for sharper images. It also supports focus pulling at up to 120 fps and maintains autofocus while zooming, making it ideal for intuitive single-person filming.
The new 16-50mm sells for $299. It will ship available in August 2024. The smooth and practical power zoom of the E PZ 16-50mm f/3.5-5.6 OSS II is ideal for movie shooting, with autofocus available even while zooming. Built-in optical stabilization works in tandem with in-body stabilization, including Active Mode, to minimize blur in videos. The lens also supports in-body breathing compensation to reduce shifts in the angle of view while focusing, ensuring smooth and stable footage.
