Sony Alpha 1 II Event

Sony Alpha 1 II Event

Sony Alpha 1 II event has been announced. It’s happening next week on November 19th, 2024 in NYC. Following the event, is Creative Space where attendees should expect to get their hands on the Alpha I Mark II.

The Alpha 1  (buy direct from Sony for $6499 or B&H or Amazon) is my personal camera and I’ve been shooting with it ever since the launch in 2021. I have no insight onto what to expect from a Mark II, other than the likelihood of an AI chip.

When the Alpha 1 launched, Neal Manowitz, President and COO at Sony Electronics told me

…our purpose is to fill the world with emotion through the power of creativity and technology.

I’m sure the second version of their flagship they’ll do the same with even more power. It’s also worth noting that this is the first time Sony has announced what a product is before the launch. Why did they do that? I don’t know. I’ll be in NYC for Creative Space and will ask to find out.

As a refresher, here are the Alpha One specs.
