Shooting A Wedding With Sony Cameras Aboard Queen Mary

Sony photographer and mega-supporter Jason Lanier shot a wedding aboard the historic Queen Mary. If you have ever shot a wedding, you know the massive challenges involved in handling the lighting, composition, event flow and the onlookers. Shoot a wedding aboard an historic ocean liner and that’s compounded a hundred fold. This video shows the challenges of shooting a wedding on an ocean liner, and shooting a wedding with Sony cameras.

The video is a great look at what goes through the mind of a wedding photographer (watch Lanier scout the ship and think about lighting solutions and sun angles) and what happens when onlookers try to stop him from shooting the wedding—something the contract with the ship allows Lanier to do.

Lanier talks about his gear, a list of which is below, but also about wedding photography in general, making this video a great camera tutorial and a wedding photography tutorial too.

You can find Part 2 of this series here (the ceremony), and the final Part 3 here (off camera and LED lighting).
