Sigma 105mm for Sony E Mount

Sigma today introduced a new telephoto macro lens, the 105mm for Sony E Mount. The introduction was shared live, starting at 9:17 in the video below. And, from what I know, Sigma has brought another high-quality Art lens to market with a full range of functionalities and excellent build quality.

The last time I shot with a Sigma macro was in Yellowstone.

As expected, it delivered stunning resolution, precise focusing, and incredible clarity along with smooth autofocus performance.

There is a whole world to photograph with a macro lens that isn’t limited to close up; especially, if you’re into bokeh and portraits, landscapes even. As Sigma continues to improve their lens manufacturing and does so with coatings that correct aberrations, photographers should expect to spend a minimal amount of time in post. The optical design of the Sigma 105 for Sony uses one SLD element. The hypersonic motor will keep up with Sony’s AF and all the native features like Eye AF.

The lens body has a focus mode switch, a limiter, AFL button, a lock switch and lots of other features. The best part of a Sigma lens for Sony is the price, the new macro cost $799 and is available for pre-order now from B&H.
