Sony FE 20mm F1.8 G Review

My friends over at Cameralabs had this to say about the Sony FE 20mm F1.8 G

The Sony FE 20mm f1.8 G is an ultra-wide prime lens designed for Alpha mirrorless cameras and corrected for full-frame sensors. It delivers an ultra wide field-of-view that captures comfortably more than a 24mm, making it ideal for expansive landscapes, tight interiors, wide astro photography, as well as vlogging or environmental portraiture. It has a decent feature set including a de-clickable aperture ring and multi-purpose focus hold button plus its optical performance even surpasses the very good Sony FE 24mm f1.4 GM.

Launched in February, the wide prime is Sony’s 56th E-mount lens. Cameralabs highly recommends it and so do I. “Is a very good wide angle prime lens for owners of Sony’s Alpha mirrorless cameras: it has a decent feature set including a de-clickable aperture ring and multi-purpose focus hold button plus its optical performance even surpasses the very good Sony FE 24mm f1.4 GM.”

Sony FE 20mm F1.8 Pricing and Availability

The FE 20mm F1.8 G is shipping for $899.99 from Amazon, B&H, Adorama or a camera store near you. I’m shooting with the 200-600mm, from my studio balcony and the 135mm. As soon as the stay at home order lifts and I can get outside, I’ll try it too.
