I don’t know anything more about the announcement than what’s shared, but will post on it when I do. From the looks of the outline on the video, the new camera resembles a RX100, like the VII. If so, that’s a very popular camera with YouTubers.
That’s because of the Pro-level movie functionality including 4K HDR (HLG), Real-time Tracking and Real-time Eye AF for movie shooting, 4K Active SteadyShot, Vertical-position data recording for movies and integrated microphone jack.
Whatever Sony Teases New Compact Camera turns out to be, it’s gonna be good. No other brand can match their world-leading 357-point focal-plane phase-detection AF + 425-point contrast-detection AF with world’s fastest 0.02 sec focus acquisition speed. Like all of Sony’s compact cameras,v ideographers can get flagship performance in the palm of their hand. And, for less than 1/2 the cost of a full-frame model.
Again, I don’t know what this camera is, but when the RX100 VII launched, it costs approximately $1,200 US. Then, proceeded to win camera of the year. The model before that, won camera of the year.
So another year, and possibly another Sony Cyber-shot RX100-series compact camera. What will it be this time – a faster lens? Better 4K video? Boosted continuous shooting?
