Sony just released Visual Story an App for Sony shooters that automatically uploads images to the cloud and utilizes AI to sort them: rejects to top-rated. And, does so with instant delivery to a client.
The app does what a team would at an event. Visual Story allows wedding, event, and other location photographers to upload images to the cloud. Then it will automatically, rate, select, and edit the images. The result is finished galleries delivered to clients—all in real-time.
The app manages multiple cameras and filtering will show images only from specific cameras, like my a9II and a7r.
Even better, AI-based sorting will organize images based on activity (first dance, cake cutting, etc.) and will find shots where the subject’s eyes are closed—radically reducing the time spent culling images. Applied presets will sync across multiple devices and galleries. Delivered images come complete with watermarks and social media information
For further work in the studio, XMP files store the edits. While Sony is marketing the app to wedding photographers, I’ll use it on location and sporting events. As long as I have a signal.
